I worked as a part-time Administrator and Marketing Intern at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council within the Rotherham Investment Development Office for two academic years. My duties consisted of taking meeting minutes, designing Rotherham Works job market newsletters, delivering presentations, and supporting colleagues in effectively distributing information to employment and skills partners. Whilst completing my responsibilities I researched a variety of employment and skills projects, businesses, and programmes to identify the types of opportunities available for residents and partners. Rotherham Works is a project that came about due to the Covid pandemic to help residents into employment, education, or training through a job market newsletter showcasing success stories of residents' journey into work. Our pilot newsletter was designed using Canva and circulated to partners. As a result of its accessibility issues, the newsletter is now produced regularly on Gov Delivery. Each newsletter edition can now be accessed on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council's Employment Support page using the link below which I helped my colleagues update.
